You may have seen 88-year-old amateur photographer Kimiko Nishimoto’s comical self-portraits before. With a sharp eye for humor and the ability to laugh at herself, Nishimoto won the hearts of many with her unique photographs and playful personality.

Despite having dived into the world of photography at the age of 72, Nishimoto quickly learned the basics of photography and digital editing, and can now adeptly utilize software like Lightroom and Photoshop to touch up her photos. But it’s not that she’s simply capable of editing her pictures — she’s darn good at it. So good, in fact, that she has officially been appointed as art director of Adobe System’s 2017 New Year’s postcard templates.

Sending New Year’s postcards is a long established Japanese tradition, and postcards typically feature the animal assigned to the upcoming year by the Chinese zodiac. The animal for 2017 is the rooster, and Nishimoto's templates incorporate birds in both funny and cute designs.
