You don't have to look any further than the comments section on food recipe videos to see that fusion foods and even the slightest alterations of cultural cooking inspires a lot of debate. Japanese food is no different, although sometimes purists forget that sushi doesn't have to use raw fish. Japan's recent Kit Kat sushi will settle that argument rather quickly. Besides, Japanese corn and mayo covered pizza is a nice counter to American cream cheese slathered sushi.

At the end of the day, if you drop the stubborness and are OK stuffing your face with what makes you happy, what's there to be upset about? Norigami Tacos follows that philosophy, encasing Japanese food favorites like sushi and ramen in seaweed tacos!

Norigami Tacos, a play on "origami" and the Japanese word for "seaweed" (nori), is a Los Angeles-based up-and-coming food group that has been introducing their mixture of Mexican and Japanese cooking with pop-up appearances at food festivals and special events. They've now started crowd-funding for an opportunity to open their own restaurant, where they hope to serve up their popular Norigami Tacos. Their seaweed tacos were reportedly born from a night of slightly drunken experimentation that led to a sheet of nori being dipped in tempura batter, and since then have evolved into delivering Japanese food favorites like ramen, sushi, and tempura via the delectable vessel of a seaweed taco! Or perhaps the Japanese take on a chingadera.
