Japanese illustrator re-imagines Disney Princesses using different anime art styles.

Whether it's turning fast food chain mascots into anime characters or drawing Japanese Kit-Kat flavors as handsome men, it's clear that illustrators can have a lot of fun applying an anime aesthetic to popular characters. Japanese Twitter user, illustrator, and lover of cute things Miochi (@mio_ney) has given the trend a lovely twist, however, by drawing Disney princesses in the different styles of various popular anime--perfectly replicating each artist's personal designs!

The illustration, titled "Disney Princess in Japanese Cartoon" by Miochi mimics the instantly recognizable styles of Hayao Miyazaki, Osamu Tezuka, and Akira Toriyama, while also turning Mulan and Belle into comical versions that would fit in the worlds of Pop Team Epic and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Fortunately, Miochi has provided an English-language key should you have trouble identifying any characters or styles.

Imitation is the the best form of flattery, and you can tell Miochi put in a lot of effort to pull off some of the characteristics of each individual artist. Miochi remarks that they may consider doing a villain series as well.

Note: Miochi provided the illustrations with the request they not be altered or reproduced, so please ask them for permission should you wish to use them, and to not contact original license holders as the illustration is fan art.
