Square Enix’s long running fantasy video game series Dragon Quest changes heroes every installation, but one constant has become the face of the series. Despite actually being little more than a face…
The cute blue slime, which you encounter as a low-level monster early on in the games, is super popular as a mascot and turns up around Japan to promote the new games from time to time. This December is your chance to take a photo with an 8-metre tall version of the drop-shaped creature.
The slime has been made with blocks in an ode to new game Dragon Quest Builders 2, in which you can build the kingdom of your dreams. This gives it a pixelated appearance, straight out of a video game.
The slime’s wish to become gigantic has come true, thanks to 1400 slime pictures uploaded by Dragon Quest fans that were collected on Twitter as part of a campaign.
This supersized photo opportunity is only sticking around from 20th December 2018 to 24th, located in Queen's Square Yokohama's Queen's Park.
Nearest Station: Minato Mirai
Opening Times: 11 am to 8 pm (closes at 7pm on final day)
