Harry Potter memo pad “magically” reveals embedded Hogwarts Castle the more you use it
Grab your robes and wands because the first ever official Wizarding World of Harry Potter Cafes have appeared, as if by magic, in Japan! Initially started to celebrate the release of the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, the cafe has enjoyed an extended run in both locations, Shinjuku in Tokyo and down south in Fukuoka.
Sadly the Shinjuku venue has already closed, and Fukuoka is the only cafe left where you can sample all the delights of JK Rowling’s Wizarding World. But if you’re a lucky enough muggle to be in Fukuoka at the moment, they’re about to update the menu and the new additions look thoroughly magical.
One of the most heavily featured creatures in Fantastic Beasts 2 was the Zouwu, a Chinese mythical animal. The cafe has cleverly created this furry being in okonomiyaki.
There’s some fantastical creatures to be had on the dessert menu too. Harry’s loyal owl Hedwig (we don’t talk about the final book) has been lovingly recreated as a snowy mont blanc.
Fawkes the phoenix also makes an appearance atop a blackcurrant and strawberry parfait.
A niffler pancake, complete with the creature’s beloved gold coins is on the new menu too, and the drinks menu has been revamped, the Hogwarts house-specific drinks taking on a more summery appearance. (See website for full menu and prices)
The new menu will be available from 20th March and the cafe can be found on the 5th floor of Hakata’s Canal City, Fukuoka.
