Akihabara, or "Akiba" as it's affectionately called by frequent visitors, is often hailed as Japan's otaku mecca. Home to a wide variety of maid cafes and anime and video game shops, Akihabara welcomes a constant flow of hobbyists on a daily basis. It's hard to imagine reproducing the unique atmosphere of Tokyo's "electronic town", but Chiba Keizai University's model design club did just that, with an amazing detailed miniature diorama of Akihabara that seems as if it's actually alive.

Displayed at the Tokyo Design Festival, the diorama has attracted a lot of attention on Twitter, as well as praise for faithfully recreating even the smallest details of Akihabara.

Here's a look at this expertly crafted miniature world, which will make you feel as if you're strolling the streets of Akihabara yourself.
