With the Pokemon Movie reboot on its way and Detective Pikachu in cinemas, it’s a great time to be a Pokemon fan. The only permanent Pokemon Cafe in the world, located in Tokyo, is getting in on the action too, bringing us some new seasonal and permanent menu items to delight the Pokemon trainer in us all.

The new menu additions coming this summer season are a throwback to the Gold and Silver era of Pokemon, inspired by some of the popular Pokemon from that installment in the series.

Some of the memorable creatures that were revealed at that time, were the dark and psychic type Eeveelutions, Espeon and Umbreon.

In tribute to these beloved Pokemon, you can get chicken burgers with buns shaped and coloured like their faces. But there’s a twist that ensures you’ll never see them both at the same time. The ethereal psychic Pokemon, Espeon's chicken burger can only be ordered until 17.59, then at 6 pm sharp the menu option changes. In reference to Umbreon’s dark nature, the Umbreon chicken burger is only available at night.

One of the generation's starter Pokemon makes an appearance too, as a savoury pancake option. The Chikorita green pancake sandwich consists of a ham, potato and egg salad filling presented between spinach pancakes.

The last addition will become a permanent resident on the grand menu, these plain pancakes come with a chocolate pen and various toppings so you can create your own work of Poke-art.

If you order a beverage, you get a free gift of a Pokemon drinks coaster, and with the new menu comes a new line up of second generation creatures. But Pikachu is still there of course, and there's also a tantalising mystery coaster that you may be lucky enough to get.

The seasonal menu items will be ready to catch from 8th June. Check out the website for full menu and prices.
