Source: PR Times New Tokyo Ninja Bar Replaces Darts With Shuriken And Blowguns 2019-06-20 Thu 2019-06-20 Thu Recently in Japan, businesses have been using the cool aesthetic of ninja to appeal to foreign tourists, perhaps thanks in part to popular anime and manga series such as Naruto. Tokyo already has its very own VR ninja training dojo and even a kunoichi cafe where lady ninja teach you to throw shuriken and make riceballs. And starting July 1st, Ninja Cafe and Bar will open in the tourist-popular Asakusa neighborhood of Tokyo. The cafe and bar is headed by Holiday Jack, a creative entertainment and event group. The idea is to create an immersive ninja dining experience that combines optional ninja training with a unique dining experience. You can already get a sense of that from the distinguished torii gate entrance and ninja weaponry on display in the restaurant. The food menu includes ninja-themed curry and udon, as well as flaming pudding. The cafe and bar also offers menu items adjusted to vegetarian, vegan, and halal needs. But perhaps the establishment's true appeal is that it offers you the opportunity to not only dress up as a ninja, but to "train" as one under guidance in a number of "shinobi skills". Guests can don ninja garb and then learn to use blowguns and throw shuriken stars at a target board. Of course, if you've had a few, maybe you'd be better off sticking to making tea.
