Yuru-hakama concept
As we've reported before, Campfire Creations (previously known as Mocolle), a brand which takes creators, illustrators and designers' ideas and transform them into actual products via crowdfunding campaigns, has launched several popular roomwear collections featuring hakama. Known as "Yuru-Hakama" ゆる袴 (Loose Hakama), these beautiful outfits combine a pair of billowy and extra-comfy hakama pants with different patterned kimono tops, each featuring a design by a popular artist or illustrator.
New for the Reiwa Era, Campfire Creations has launched a campaign for its latest Yuru-Hakama lineup. Featuring designs by popular illustrator Shikimi (known for her character designs for Touken Ranbu and other well-known online games), this Reiwa Era edition Yuru-Hakama may be the most alluring series to date.
The previous four Yuru-Hakama series have been very successful, exceeding their funding goals by anywhere between 200% to over 1000%. For example, their 2017 lineup of yabane (arrow feather)-patterned hakama inspired by the Taishō Roman aesthetic reached an astonishing 1077%. And if the numbers for the current campaign are indication, Campfire Creations' latest incarnation of the Yuru-Hakama is on its way to surpassing even that record. The campaign was only launched last week and it has already reached 1005% at time of writing with 35 days still remaining.
Campfire Creations' previous hakama roomwear series has been selling on Village Vanguard Online Store, and they have sold over 4000 so far.
They feature completely machine-washable 100% cotton materials which are soft and pleasant to the touch, stretchable and easy to move in, and a one-piece design with a detachable top.

East meets West in comfort and style
Shikimi's print designs for the Yuru-Hakama Reiwa Era Version give this roomwear a Japanese motif while also conveying a trendy and sophisticated image. In keeping with the theme of "beautiful harmony" implied in the name of the Reiwa Era, the series is a hybrid of Japanese and Western sensibilities, creating a beautiful series befitting the new Reiwa Era.

Delivery date is expected for December 2019. Credit cards and PayPal are accepted as payment but delivery can only be made to Japanese addresses so you may need to use a forwarding service such as Tenso if you would like it delivered outside of Japan.
