Many visitors to Japan this October will likely be interested in sampling local delicacies while populating their digital photo albums and social media accounts with images of scenic, interesting and unusual sights. They may even be interested in trying some Halloween-themed sweets while they're here.

We've already seen examples such as these adorable My Melody and Kuromi-themed donuts by Floresta and the desserts on special Halloween menus such as the one at Kawaii Monster Cafe.

If you're looking for a cool and cute Halloween-themed treat while you're in Japan, this Halloween soft-serve ice cream from fashionable dessert shop chain Gelato Pique Cafe may just fit the bill.

Only available between October 3rd and 30th, this photogenic dessert features black soft-serve ice cream naturally colored with pure Japanese cedar ash and decorated with cookie sticks, a cocoa and cream sandwich cookie and a monaka Japanese filled wafer type sweet. Finally, adding a purple tinge is a sprinkling of powdered Japanese beni-imo purple yam.
