When the live-action adaptation of popular anime series Cowboy Bebop was announced and confirmed as an upcoming Netflix series release, fans began rumbling with the usual concerns voiced about live-action takes on beloved anime. While those worries likely won't disappear even beyond the series release, fans will at least be comforted by the fact that Ein, the hyper-intelligent data dog of the Bebop crew, will not be a CGI reproduction and played by an actual corgi. The good boy seems to have some canine acting chops, and will join a thus far announced cast of John Cho (Spike Spiegel), Mustafa Shakir (Jet Black), Daniella Pineda (Faye Valentine), and Alex Hassell (Vicious).
The announcement comes courtesy of a new short video from Netflix, showing the canine actor attend a table read--he apparently commands some respect on the set as he's got his own personalized dish waiting for him.
