Episode 22: Special Guest YUC'e

Ohamonii~
Welcome to another episode of YuNi no All Night Nippon i
This week, YuNi has brought in a very special guest, trackmaker, DJ and singer YUC'e (pronounced "yushi-e"), whom fans will recognize as the artist who composed and wrote lyrics for YuNi's original songs Toumei Seisai 透明声彩, Winter Berry and her latest track Beautiful World.

Advice for YUC'e

Reflecting the season when it was recorded, the show got started with YuNi and YUC'e polishing off some of the unusual Halloween candy they won in a Trick or Treat event they did on the live portion earlier in the day.

Then, even though both of them had green tongues from some melon-flavor candy, they moved on to the next part, in which YuNi answered a question from her guest YUC'e

YUC'e began by revealing she has a "problem" she's been unable to solve for a long time. The tension in the air was palpable as YuNi imagined this would be a serious subject, but it turns out YUC'e was just playing up the drama for laughs. The problem is she can’t eat wasabi!

Many sushi restaurants in Japan have tablets where you can place your order and specify wasabi added or not. But when YUC'e has to order directly at a traditional sushi restaurant or at a "conveyor belt" sushi restaurant (if nothing she likes is on the belt), she finds it hard to ask the chef in person for sushi without wasabi because those chefs are always so busy and she doesn't want to bother them. So, she ends up ordering something she knows has no wasabi in it like futomaki rolls or gunkan-maki.

YuNi told YUC'e she has no problem with wasabi, and even likes to mix wasabi into her soy sauce. Then, YuNi segued into her advice for her wasabi-intolerant friend:

Just don’t eat wasabi!

The two shared a laugh, but then YuNi added that there are some types of wasabi which aren’t too spicy, especially the high-quality ones, and she told YUC'e she could use that to her advantage: From now on, she could play the role of the sophisticated gourmet by telling people she only eats high-quality wasabi!
