Until now, fans of the Evangelion franchise who wanted to shop for goods when they visited Tokyo have had two main choices: either visit the Evangelion Store Tokyo -01 in Ikebukuro Parco or take a one-hour train ride to Hakone-Yumoto and visit the Eva-ya store.

Fortunately, those choices have now expanded twofold:

Last month, the Radio Eva project launched its first brick-and-mortar store when the reborn Shibuya Parco opened its doors (as we reported), and now, a second official Tokyo Evangelion store has just opened in Shinjuku.

Known among fans as a place with a special connection to Evangelion, the Shinjuku Marui Annex has a track record of hosting official Evangelion-related events. For example, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo had its world premiere at the Shinjuku Wald 9 movie theater, which is located in the building. Now it is proud to host a permanent store for Evangelion merchandise, a first for the Marui group.

Lottery

Customers who ring up more than 3,000 JPY in merchandise at the Evangelion Store Shinjuku using the EPOS credit card will be entered into a lottery (one entry for each purchase rung up at the cash register) through which they can win special goods commemorating the store's opening.

The conditions are as follows:

  • Period: December 6th to 22nd
  • Epos Card must be presented by the owner. (You can sign up for a new card on premises if you don't have one).
  • Your total items cannot be divided into two separate purchases.
  • Only same-day receipts are valid.
  • Receipts cannot be added together.
  • The content of the lottery is subject to change without notice.
  • The lottery will end when supplies are exhausted.

You can look forward to more exciting promotions and store-exclusive goods at the Evangelion Store Shinjuku in the near future
