Japan has a soft spot for the playful claymation creations of British animators Aardman. One of the ways this love manifests itself is as the permanent Shaun the Sheep cafe in Kichijoji, Tokyo. This ‘Sunday Brunch’ cafe hosts a permanent collaboration menu, serving up dishes inspired by the woolly mischief maker himself.

It looks like the cheeky sheep is feeling particularly amorous this coming Valentine’s Day because the cafe is rolling out a special menu to celebrate the season of love, with a sweet theme of hearts and strawberries. There’s a whole range of limited time only items up for grabs, including mains, desserts and drinks.

The 'Shaun LOVE Plate' handily offers both a main course and dessert in one order. The chicken cream penne expresses love through a pink heart drawn with beets, and there’s an adorable strawberry cream muffin too.

'LOVE Crazy For Shaun' is a cafe mocha which is topped high with raspberry and strawberry ice cream, chocolate crunch pieces and heart-shaped strawberries.

One of Shaun’s pals, Bitzer, makes an appearance on a strawberry and chocolate ice cream topped crepe.

The ‘new type of chocolate’, ruby chocolate is the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day given its natural pink hue. It’s used in the cafe’s menu for an appropriately coloured hot chocolate with a Shaun the Sheep cookie on the side.

If your loved one has a special place in their heart for Shaun the Sheep, you can also pick up some Valentine’s Day chocolate as gift at the cafe.

The Valentine’s menu will run until the end of March. Check out the cafe's website for the full menu and prices!
