The craft beer industry has grown considerably in Japan over the past years and has now dozens of places you can enjoy a good glass of high-quality beer.

Here are some of the beer bars I recommend if you are looking for good choices in Tokyo and want to have a wide variety to choose from:

Brussels Beer Project Bar in Nishi Shinjuku

Shortened as BBP, Brussels Beer Project is a bar where craft-beers are served on tap with lots of beers from Belgium and collaborations with either Japanese or other European brewers.

Regardless of what I choose to drink, I know that I’ll always order the smoked appetizer platter because it goes well with everything and is simply delicious.

There are many other menu options available and the prices are pretty affordable; a regular pint goes around 950-1100 yen, a price that is quite normal for Tokyo.

I love going to the BBP because I can always try out something new, there are many delicious options and has a great atmosphere!

Dry Dock

A unique bar in Tokyo, most of the time crowded because of its size and popularity, is Dry Dock.

It has craft beers not only from Japan but also an impressive number of imported beers and even microbrews from the US you won’t find anywhere else but here.

The place is quite narrow and made to look like a yacht, but the atmosphere is great and, in my opinion, for the options available and for getting a good craft beer, is worth going.

Far Yeast Tokyo Craft Beer & Bao

A bar that offers a great selection of brews, beer of tap and has a great atmosphere, too!

The food is extremely tasty and fills you up compared to other bars where there’s not much quantity when it comes to dishes.

You can try burgers, karaage, dumplings, salads and many other tasty picks to satisfy your gourmet appetite, which paired with a good beer, makes the perfect combination!

All the places recommended have a great atmosphere, good food and most importantly, expertly brewed, flavorful beers for any taste, so try them out next time you are in Tokyo.
