Last week, following Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert's positive test for the coronavirus and as a countermeasure to the ongoing pandemic, the NBA announced it would suspend it's season. Per ESPN'S Adrian Wojnarowski, the league is considering a minimum 3 month hiatus.

It's a totally understandable countermeasure, but creates a hole in sports fans that niche athletic competitions such as muscle man nipple sumo wrestling cannot possibly hope to fill. Those in Taiwan hoping to scratch their basketball itch may have some comfort, however, as Taiwanese sports network ELTA has to decided to air the classic 90's basketball anime Slam Dunk weekly--presumably in response to the suspended season!

Based on the incredibly popular manga by the great Takehiko Inoue, Slam Dunk tells the story of a delinquent who matures (well, sort of) when he joins the high school basketball team and develops camaraderie with the other underdog members of the team striving to win a championship.
