Japanese professional wrestler Hana Kimura, who wrestled for women’s wrestling promotion Stardom and appeared on popular television show Terrace House has passed away at 22-years old. Stardom announced her passing on the promotion’s Twitter.
At the time, there are no official details regarding her death. Hours before her death was announced, she shared photos of self-harm, liked Tweets of upset Terrace House fans bullying her, and posted a now-deleted message that reads as a suicide note.
"I get 100 opinions a day. I can’t deny that it hurt me. “Die, you’re disgusting, disappear” , up until now, I’m the one who thought those things the most.
Mother, thank you for giving birth to me. I lived a life of wanting to be loved. Thank you to everyone who supported me. I love you.
I’m sorry for being weak.”
Kimura, who began wrestling professionally at 18 years old, was the daughter of women's wrestling legend Kyoko Kimura. She had been receiving abusive comments online since an episode of Terrace House, where she slapped fellow cast member Kai after he ruined her wrestling gear in a laundry mix-up.
Fans and colleagues have expression shock and sadness on Twitter.
