As most of our readers surely know, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" is very popular these days. As reported by Business Insider, the game is Nintendo's best-selling title in the game franchise's 19-year history, having sold 13 million copies in the first six weeks. It's also the fastest-selling game on the Nintendo Switch. Coinciding with self-isolation imposed by the novel coronavirus pandemic, the game has allowed many of us to find a fun way of exploring a new world and meeting friends within it.

With all that time spent on New Horizons, those with artistic inclinations have naturally found ways of expressing themselves through the game or have found inspiration from the game in their creative endeavors. For example, we've seen bakers cook up an adorable batch of tanuki cookies and players designing islands based on retro Showa-era Japan or Pokemon's Johto Region.

Illustrators have also been inspired by their experience with the game. For example, we recently introduced an illustrator who is chronicling his adventures in the game in a notebook like an authentic explorer.

But let's not forget the wonderful cast of villagers which makes so much of the game's charm. One person who has fallen under the game's charms is Japanese illustrator Hechima, who has been gaining attention on Twitter for Animal Crossing gijinka (anthropomorphization), reimagining the characters as cute anime girls.

With Hechima's permission, we've reproduced them below, along with some of the reactions:
