Can you guess what happened here?

This summer in Japan felt short, but it was still a hot one. For some people, the heat can cause skin problems.

Exhibit A as seen below, illustrates one such example of summer skin issues. Twitter user 反王ケンラウヘル Anti-King Kenrauhel (@kenrauheru) posted several pictures of mysterious dark spots that appeared across the top of both his feet.

According to his post, he noticed the spots the week before. He searched online to figure out what was causing them, but hit a dead end. This left him quite concerned.

Certainly this has happened to many of us. You have a rash or even a cough and sore throat so you go online to diagnose yourself. Unfortunately, a quick internet search lead you to believe you’ve contracted Covid-19.

In this case, a quick Google search for ‘skin spots’ led me to flea bites, eczema, and a list of even scarier diseases.

The Results Are In…

Luckily for Anti-King Kenrauhel, a sudden moment of realization cleared up his concerns, though not his skin spots.

Let’s just say he was able to connect the dots hehehe...

It was the CROCS!

The term he should have Google searched was ‘croc burn’.

Obviously, Anti-King Kenrauhel was relieved that his skin spots were simply strange tan lines. So he shared his discovery on Twitter and the response has been incredible.

Many shared pictures of their own strange tan lines from wearing crocs or sandals. This is my favorite one:

Eniyan (@ennil2010) “I wondered if I caught a disease that caused scales…”

But we all know better by now right?

I can just imagine Anti-King Kenrauhel or Eniyan going to see a doctor and being sent home with a prescription for suntan lotion…
