As one of last year’s hit anime, Kimetsu no Yaiba (also called Demon Slayer) has become the inspiration for a slew of cool, if not sometimes random, merchandise such as watches, lingerie and even hair wax. But fans of Tanjiro and the gang with a sweet tooth will be happy to know that this extensive range of products even includes snacks.

Tabemasu is a collection of awesome limited time only ‘wagashi’ (Japanese traditional sweets) inspired by favourite characters such as Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty and, interestingly, the Toy Story aliens. These always adorable and beautifully crafted desserts turn up every so often in convenience stores, and this time around they’ve taken inspiration from the two main characters of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro and Nezuko.

The adorable chibi-style faces are detailed enough to even include Tanjiro’s scar and earrings, as well as Nezuko’s bamboo stick and hair accessories. The patterns found on each of the characters’ clothing is also used as a backdrop, making them even more recognisable as the main characters of Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Both these features are made from nerikiri, a traditional Japanese sweet made from white bean paste and mochi dough which can be easily coloured, moulded and carved, making it the perfect choice for aesthetically pleasing desserts like this.

Each character has a different filling, with Tanjiro’s being chocolate flavour and Nezuko’s being strawberry flavour.

These super cute demon slaying confections can be found in the chilled section of Lawson convenience stores in Japan from 20th October onwards costing 231 yen plus tax.
