What Mini Cup Noodles Look Like in the Hands of Rui Hachimura

Nissin’s Original Cup Noodles was introduced in 1971 and has since spread around the world.

But Nissin realized that, like most things, instant ramen is not one-size-fits-all.

Hence the addition of their Big and Mini size Cup Noodles to their product line-up.

And more than a few of us may even feel that the Mini size fits in our hand just right. People come in different shapes and sizes and that’s just nature.

But which size is suitable for someone who’s more than 2 meters tall?

Luckily, Nissin carried out some tests and made the results public.

What does it look like when a pro basketball player holds Mini Cup Noodles?

Nissin got some help from Rui Hachimura for their photo op.

If you don’t already know, Hachimura was picked 9th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2019 NBA Draft. He’s the second Japanese-born player to be drafted into the NBA, after Yasutaka Okayama.

What’s more, he made history as the first Japanese player to ever be drafted in the 1st round.

Hachimura first appeared in a commercial for Cup Noodles last July.

Some viewers may have wondered about the actual size of Cup Noodles in Hachimura’s hands.

So Nissin obliged, recently updating their official Cup Noodles Instagram account (cupnoodle.jp) with the following photos. Don't forget to click on the arrow on the right to view the second one too.

Well, they both look mini right?

But you can tell there’s a difference.

I second one user who responded to the images saying,

It would have been nice if he held the Big size too!

After all, isn’t that the size that Hachimura would choose for himself?
