The Winter Solstice is behind us and it’s time to brace for the cold.

When you get home and peel off your many layers, one great way to warm up is by drinking hot milk.

If you’ve ever warmed up milk, you’re familiar with the layer of skin that forms on the top regardless of whether you use the microwave or stovetop.

This thin film is just milk proteins reacting to the heat and changing form so it’s perfectly safe to ingest, but still there are many people who find it unpleasant, somewhat like bread-crust haters.

Well, for those of you with an aversion to milk skin, never fear!

Zen-Noh, a federation of agricultural cooperatives in Japan, has come to your rescue.

On December 16, 2020, Zen-Noh updated their official Twitter account (@zennoh_food) with a foolproof solution to rid yourself of that nasty milk skin forever.

To those of you trying to warm up milk,

Add in some sugar and mix well before heating in the microwave to avoid the skin from forming.

After all these years spent struggling against milk skin, I’m left dumbfounded.

Simple enough right?

A spoonful of sugar will make it difficult for the skin to form on top of your milk and add a bit of sweet taste!
