Some people just can't get enough of Kentucky Fried Chicken. While Tokyo's all-you-can-eat-and-drink KFC provides more than enough for an outing, sometimes you'd just like to be able to make fried chicken that tastes just the same. Unfortunately, Colonel Sanders' "11 herbs and spices" is one of the most famously guarded trade secrets in fried poultry, making an exact replication a game of culinary experimentation.

After years of trial and error, Japanese cooking enthusiast and YouTuber Gen (@GensEssay) claims to have gotten very close to the finger lickin' good recipe, however. Gen recently took to Twitter and YouTube to share an extensively researched recipe he claims is indistinguishable from the classic, and even cooked it up in a video:

"Announcement: I, a pervert who has tried to recreate KFC for 3 years, has arrived at the stage where an ordinary person can't tell the difference."

In a video below (which starts at 9:43) you can watch Gen prepare the imitation recipe and his satisfaction after.

It certainly looks the part!

This isn't the only recreation of a classic food (or even beverage) Gen has tried his hand at. Be sure to follow on YouTube to see recreations of Orange Chicken from Panda Express, Coca-Cola, as well as delicious original recipes.
