Due to various pandemic restrictions and advice, most people around the world are spending much more time at home. This has led to a trend in Japan for an at-home-cafe atmosphere, so you can make your abode more cafe-like, and avoid having to go out.

Apart from securing some superior beverages and desserts to get that stylish cafe experience, you’ll also need some trendy coffee goods to complete the look.

For fans of Studio Ghibli, a long-standing coffee goods maker called Kalita have teamed up with Donguri Kyowakoku, an official merchandiser for the iconic animation studio. Using Porco Rosso as a motif, they’ve come up with three new coffee goods. The first is a coffee dripper made from Hasami ware, a traditional type of Japanese pottery from Nagasaki.

The next one is a stackable coffee mug also made from Hasami ware, with a message from the Crimson Pig himself, telling you to ‘enjoy your break time!’

Lastly, an important part of making your own fancy coffee at home, a coffee mill, which can be turned by hand.

So if you want to make your own swanky, Ghibli-inspired coffee shop at home, these goods will be available from the end of January in Donguri Kyowakoku locations (store list can be found on their website) or from their online shop.
