During COVID-19, many people are shifting their lives online. Despite going out much less than they used to, many are—dare I say—increasingly satisfied with their newfound virtual lifestyles...

Twitter user Cat Apartment Coffee (@CatApartment) lives with many cats. One day, she noticed one of them staring at her while she was using her computer:

“When I focus on my PC, my cat glares at me”

This cat looks like a girl forced to watch her boyfriend play video games. Not happy. Cat Apartment Coffee also tweeted:

“After that, she started to get aggressive.”

Her followers reacted:

  • "The emotional difference between the first picture and the second one is funny.”
  • “It’s easy to understand how she feels.”
  • “I want to play with her. She is adorable.”
  • “Those eyes!!! So sweet.”

Remote working felines

We’ve all heard that pets often mimic their owners and the other way around. I must admit that I agree. For instance, consider these cats who are also trending recently on Twitter:

“I came back from the bathroom and the cats seemed like they were ready for a web conference”

Twitter user Milk and Olive (@milkandolive) posted the above picture. As you can see, the internaut’s cats were sitting in front of her laptop looking at the camera as if they were participating in an online meeting. I have my guesses about from whom they picked up this behavior. Milk and Olive’s followers reacted:

  • “If they send me a request to join their meeting, I would definitely accept such a sweet invitation.”
  • “It’s time for some change! Lol”
  • “They are too cute, and no one would be able to focus during that meeting."
  • “Online meeting or online drinking party?”
  • “I want to have a web meeting with such cute cats.”
  • “I imagined the cats are discussing about up-grading their food.”
  • “It’s called a cat meeting.”
  • “I think cats also think it’s risky to gather now. So they decided to meet online.”

Milk and Olive also posted this picture:

“A cat holding a web meeting.”

This feline’s face looks just like a human participating in a remote meeting. Her followers reacted:

  • “Your cat knows more about computers than I do. How he looks at it is so natural.”
  • “Finally, cats have evolved. Maybe they start shopping on Amazon."
  • "I want to relax with him while I'm working remotely… "
  • "The times are hanging..."
  • "Cats also meet online."
  • "He seems like he can use a computer better than me."
  • “It’s such a cute meeting.”

If you’re a consieur of internet culture, you likely recently heard of the cat-lawyer zoom fiasco. If not, here’s a link. Indeed, looking at these photos, I can't help be reminded of the incident. Sure enough, cats are even meeting and talking online--how the times are changing.

Here’s a final remote working cat who seems to be a little worn out from a long day.

”This is part of working remotely.”

Twitter user Yamaneko (@ymnc_rf) tweeted these pictures and her followers reacted:

  • “You have an assistant.”
  • “I envy you.”
  • “This cat doesn’t use a mouse? Lol.”
  • “This is why you should have a cat.”
  • “This is like me working from home.”
  • “The cat and the owner seem happy.”

Certainly, we’re all very busy despite the pandemic.
