If you are eager for the sakura season, you are not alone! As it turns out, everyone’s favourite robot cat from the future – Doraemon – also can’t wait to see those pretty pink petals.

To get you even more excited for spring – and perhaps a little more prepared for any hayfever episodes that might accompany it – check out these cherry blossom themed handkerchiefs featuring Doraemon and friends.

Available in both terrycloth towel material and cotton, these handkerchiefs come in a variety of 12 different designs. They also pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of Doraemon, which was celebrated last year through numerous collaborations with companies like Japan Post, Baskin Robbins, and even Gucci!

The towel style handkerchief features a print of Doraemon making the flowers bloom using a secret tool made of ash (hardcore Japanese culture fans might recognise the reference to the Japanese folktale ‘Hanasaka Jiji’ or ‘花咲か爺’).

The cotton handkerchiefs are available in a larger size than the towels, and come in 6 different designs featuring Doraemon and his friends, Nobita and Shizuka, as they enjoy playing amongst the ‘dancing’ cherry blossoms.
With the larger size, the cotton handkerchief can also be used as wrapping for a bento box lunch.
