What comes to mind when you think of nurses? Heroic frontline workers battling endless fatigue during the pandemic? Highly educated professionals sacrificing time with loved ones to care for strangers? Any way you cut it, it's certainly easy to idolize these healthcare professionals.

That said, they are all human. And like all people, their patience can be tried. Instagrammer infy_mediya documents the everyday life of nurses sparing none of the down-and-dirty details. Apparently, that message resonates: the account has over 67,000 followers.

Recently, infy_mediya posted this ten-part post (click to see each):

"The other day, I drew illustrations of the most popular and impressive posts following the theme of "the real lives of nurses."

  • “I struggle feeding patients their evening meals because it makes me feel drowsy and hunger (gulp).”
  • “What the hell is the paste made from?”
  • “When I see someone with thick veins, I get the urge to pierce them with a thick needle. Lol”
  • “When something annoying happens at work, I feel better after talking with a patient.”
  • “(Today I think I’ll have korokke for dinner) I often decide what I’ll have for dinner after seeing what the patients are served.”

  • “When assisting someone to the toilet, I also need to go (Oops.)”
  • “Because a nurse's clothes are so tight, it is difficult to maintain the appearance of a slim figure (sob).”
  • “I sometimes talk crap because relations with coworkers can be so rough.”

infy_mediya shows everyone how tough being a nurse truly is. Many hospital workers who follow the account naturally agreed.
