Nestlé Launches a New Genre of Plant-Based Latte Products in Japan

Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage company with operations in 187 countries around the world, offers a wide range of plant-based foods and beverages to meet the diversification of dietary needs. In recent years, interest in plant-based foods and beverages has been growing in Japan as well, as consumers become increasingly health-conscious and considerate of the global environment.

Against this backdrop, Nestlé is launching a new genre in the Japanese market, the plant-based latte, which contains no dairy ingredients. Made with carefully selected oats and almonds and in a blend made to go well with coffee, the products deliver a delicious taste to discerning latte lovers.

The launch in Japan follows earlier launches of Nestlé plant-based coffee mixes across a number of countries in Europe, Latin America and Oceania.

Product Features

The NESCAFÉ plant-based latte range in Japan includes ready-to-drink beverages to enjoy on-the-go or at home, soluble mixes that can be made by just adding hot water, and capsules for the popular NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto system.

The ready-to-drink and soluble mixes have been available since March 1st, 2021. As for the NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto capsules, the release date has been postponed to mid-May or beyond. The capsules are manufactured in factories in Europe and imported, but it has been difficult to maintain a stable supply for them as a result of increased global demand and restrictions on international transportation.

Nestlé will continue to expand its plant-based product lineup in order to provide consumers in Japan with a variety of choices. As a "Good Food, Good Life" company, Nestlé is committed to using the power of food to improve the quality of life for all people, now and for generations to come.
