LINE is the most popular messaging app in Japan, and as such, the characters that feature in their ‘stickers’ can become beloved stars in their own right. This is extra true when the characters have links to existing celebrities, which can be said of character lineup Truz, which was created by Korean idol group Treasure last year.

Tokyo's Truz Cafe 2021

Truz’s cute members are featuring in their own themed cafe that opened in Tokyo this month. Since Treasure has several Japanese members in their group, it’s sure to be a hit with local K-pop fans.

Visitors to the cafe can choose from three main meals (hamburger, spaghetti meatballs or ethnic rice) and then choose the flavour of French fries they want by picking out their favourite character:

Chilli - black pepper

Romy - honey butter

Yochi - soy sauce butter

Bonbon - garlic

Matetsu - napolitan

Lawoo - curry

Hikun - takoyaki

Ye-dee - seaweed salt

Som - cheese

Ruru - consommé

Woopy - BBQ

Podong - corn potage

The chosen character will feature on the plate, a flag, and a card attached to the fries.

The desserts work on a similar system. Diners can choose from chocolate banana parfait or berry pancakes, then the flavour of the side popcorn depends on the chosen character.

Chilli - blueberry

Romy - coconut

Yochi - orange

Bonbon - truffle salt

Matetsu - pepper

Lawoo - strawberry

Hikun - mango

Ye-dee - matcha

Som - milk

Ruru - kinako

Woopy - framboise

Podong - cinnamon

There’s also croissants to be had with different toppings for each member.

There’s two cold drinks to choose from, including cotton candy tea.

Blue soda is the other one.

But if you’re after a hot drink you can go for the cafe latte with adorable latte art.

There’s also a blue calpis drink on the takeout menu, and the bottle can be kept as a souvenir.

But it wouldn’t be a pop up cafe without loads of awesome original goods to buy, and the cafe’s shop is loaded up with key rings, cups, bags and more.

How to get to Treasure's Truz Cafe
