These cute notebooks will remind you of Japanese konbini sandwiches

If you've ever been to Japan, you've probably seen them: tasty-looking sandwiches, usually on the slim side compared to their Western counterparts, and made with fluffy white shokupan milk bread, crusts removed and shaped into perfect triangles. Whether it's an egg salad sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich, a BLT or a tuna salad sandwich, they're a common sight in convenience stores, supermarkets, kiosks on train station platforms, and more.

It just so happens that we have three tasty-looking examples on a plate right here:

But wait a second. If you look a bit closer, you'll probably notice there's something off about these sandwiches...

"Maybe this isn't food at all," you may be saying to yourself...

So if it isn't food, then what could it be? Of course, if you read the title, you know that we're talking about notebooks!

Just like their name implies, these Japanese sandwich notebooks look for all the world like Japanese-style sandwiches, but are actually notebooks in disguise...

You can see what it looks like side by side with the real thing:

They both look delicious and make you hungry for a bite...

With a fluffy texture, these Japanese Sandwich Notebooks are fun to use, and they've put some effort into the texture and feel of the paper, too.

When you pick up the notebook...

You'll surely say to yourself: "It's like touching a real slice of bread, so fluffy!"

Also, the cross-section of the notebook was intentionally designed to make it look more like a real sandwich with ingredients inside.

You can appreciate the designer's attention to detail!

The Japanese Sandwich Notebook is made by a bookbinding and paper processing company. One of the staff members, probably just before lunchtime, saw a sample of thick paper and thought: "It looks delicious, just like sandwich bread," and that inspired this product!

Once the soft paper was chosen, there was a process of trial and error to make the product as close as they could to a real sandwich.

The team really had fun in the process. Calling the paper materials "ingredients" and the bookbinding process "cooking," all the parts came together and the final product was realized.

Two types of "sandwiches"

These fun notebooks come in two "flavors": egg salad sandwich and ham & lettuce sandwich.

The colors of the notebooks are reminiscent of the bread and the ingredients used in each sandwich.

Of course, you can use it as a regular notebook.

The Japanese Sandwich Notebook is also a great gift idea.

Why not offer it as a gift to a family member or friend who loves sandwiches, looks forward to returning to Japan (and visiting Japanese konbini), or just loves cute and quirky stationery items?

Not only does it look like a sandwich, but it also feels like a sandwich, so you can use it as a notebook or just set it up in your room as a decorative piece.

Aren't you tempted to get one and see how soft and fluffy they are?
