Due to the expiration of the building’s lease agreement and plans to start renovation construction,, SEGA entertainment is closing its iconic arcade facility Sega Ikebukuro GiGO as of September 20th, 2021. The landmark arcade, which first opened in July 1993, joins the Sega Akihabara Building 2 as another landmark Sega arcade saying farewell.

To commemorate all the memories and support from the fans the arcade has had in the past 28 years, they are preparing for many closing-campaign events with prizes available to gamers hoping to say goodbye in August.

They are also asking their loyal customers to participate during this period by sharing their memories and photos taken at the Sega Ikebukuro GiGO store on the store Twitter or on in-store display.
