Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and sushi chain Kura Sushi collaborate on campaign

The Japanese sushi restaurant chain, Kura Sushi (くら寿司 kura zushi) and the wildly popular anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba 鬼滅の刃 started a collaboration campaign this autumn.

The new campaign also includes a special menu and original goods that feature the characters of the series.

The new character menu also includes a special sushi plate called Kyōjurō Rengoku’s Flame Roasted Cheese Salmon (煉獄杏寿郎の炎の炙りチーズサーモン rengoku kyōjurō no honō no aburi chīzu sāmon) inspired, of course, by everyone’s beloved Rengoku-san.

The plate includes three hand-rolled types of delicious sushi and comes with an original sheet of Rengoku-san.

I also ordered the special plate so many times that now I have more than five sets of Kyōjurō Rengoku’s design sheet and use it instead of a coaster.

All three types tasted divine, but personally, the one in the middle with kimchi sauce on top was my top favorite!

Besides the Rengoku sushi plate, there is also a probiotic melon drink inspired by Tanjirō Kamado that comes with a Tanjirō sticker and a strawberry version of the juice inspired by his sister, Nezuko.

During the collaboration campaign, if your bill is at least 2,500 yen, you can pick one of the calendars with the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters.

There are the four options you can choose from:

  • Tanjirō Kamado Calendar
  • Nezuko Kamado Calendar
  • Zen'itsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira Calendar
  • Hashira (Pillars) Calendar

Bikkurapon Gacha Slot Game

Before ordering, you can also participate in a slot game and have a chance to win original Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba goods. For every five plates you slide into the plate slot, a game starts, and you can either win or lose.

This bonus option is the reason why Kura Sushi is my favorite conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Japan. Not only is it delicious and affordable, but it also offers fun campaigns and mini surprises.

Thanks to the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba campaign, the games also offer original videos featuring the characters- a more exciting way for the fans to enjoy their sushi break.

I also got lucky and won a small capsule made of paper with a mini Kyōjurō Rengoku badge in it (however, it took around 20 plates to win!).

Twitter Campaign

Furthermore, there is also a Twitter campaign where fans can win their Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba conveyor belt sushi train and enjoy a fun sushi party at home.

All you need to do is follow the Kura Sushi official Twitter account and participate by retweeting the campaign-targeted tweet.
