New Era has announced their first-ever collaboration with the internationally famous Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami on a new apparel collection to kick off the new year on January 1st, 2022.
Using New Era's iconic headwear as a canvas, Takashi Murakami's artwork will be embroidered and printed on an apparel lineup including headwear, apparel, and bags.
Headwear will feature not only New Era's 59FIFTY flat-billed cap, its 9FIFTY cap with an open back, the 9FORTY A-Frame Trucker cap, the Casual Classic cap, and the 9THIRTY and 9TWENTY cloth strap caps, but also cuff knit beanies. Long-sleeve and short-sleeve tee shirts have also been announced.
From January, more products will be announced, including bags and artwork combining ERA and Takashi Murakami icons. For more information about the designs and other details, see the official website for the collection here.
The Takashi Murakami collection will be available at the New Era online store, directly managed stores, and selected global dealers. In Japan, the collection will go on sale first on Saturday, January 1, 2022 (JST).
