Have you ever had an experience where something you no longer use was put to use in a completely different way?

Japanese hobbyist ダンボールビーダマン danbōru bīdaman (@dandanb_dama), who usually posts various original arts and crafts using cardboard and other materials on social media, came across such a scene and couldn't help but laugh.

His wife was looking for a convenient way of storing her collection of POSCA, a popular brand of water-based paint markers made by Mitsubishi Pencil Co., Ltd.

His attention immediately focused on one of his former possessions which he had given to his wife...

See for yourself!

"My wife's POSCA gear is hardcore"

What danbōru bīdaman's wife was using to store her POSCA markers was the slingshot ammo belt that he previously used when he was active as an airsoft enthusiast, as you can see in the image below:

Maybe his wife was making something for his son who was sleeping in the back.

With her gear, however, she looks like she's ready to hit the battlefield.

It makes it very easy to use POSCA markers. She can easily take them out like this:

The Tweet became an instant hit and has received more than 102,000 likes at the time of writing, eliciting comments such as:

  • "Wow, this is so cool!"
  • "What special ops unit are you in?"
  • "It looks like it would be good for people who write POP materials*"
  • "This is a great way of reusing airsoft gear"

POP stands for "point-of-purchase" and refers to cards or panels seen in Japanese bookstores and other shops and used to promote, make suggestions or provide various information. They are almost always handmade and can sometimes be colorful and even feature manga-like illustrations.

If you're curious, why don't you try it yourself! (Just make sure you don't cause any confusion if you're going to do it in public).
