We already knew that the chocolatiers at Lindt know their way around chocolate, but the Japanese arm of the famous company are proving they’re pretty knowledgeable about green tea too.

They’ve just announced the return of one of their extra special green tea creations, a white chocolate beverage that’s packed full of ‘Sky Matcha’. It has been given this romantic name because it’s grown high up on the mountainside. The type Lindt uses is cultivated in Shizuoka.

The rich and deeply flavoured matcha works in perfect harmony with Lindt’s sweet white chocolate. Last time, the drink contained matcha pudding, but this year’s beverage has matcha panna cotta to add an interesting texture.

The aesthetically pleasing depiction of Mount Fuji among the clouds is on top of the drink, thanks to a white chocolate plate that makes the perfect base for matcha art. As an extra detail, the rim of the cup is also decorated with matcha white chocolate in an attractive drip pattern.

Sky Matcha macarons will also be appearing on the menu at the same time.

These rare matcha treats can be picked up at branches of Lindt’s Chocolat Boutique and Cafe in Japan from 4th April to 31st May 2022.
