One day, Japanese essayist and novelist Pentabu (@pentabutabu), noticed that his wife had new nails.

Wanting to praise her and express his honest feelings, he said: "Hey, did you change your nails? They're so cute!" But rather than being happy, it seems that his wife was upset by the question since she replied:

"You only noticed now? I had them done yesterday."

Thinking quickly, Pentabu immediately responded:

"Sorry, I've only been looking at your face."

And with those words, she was instantly in a good mood! What's more, she made Pnetabu's favorite dish for dinner that evening.

Pentabu concluded his Tweet, saying: "I would like to share this information for the benefit of all the men in the world!"

The Tweet went viral, garnering over 247,000 likes and nearly 27,000 retweets at the time of writing, and eliciting numerous comments such as:

  • "Impressive technique! I want to use this as a reference."
  • "A man of this caliber can rule the world. I couldn't think of a comeback like that."
  • "I already thought he's attractive (through his behavior) from his first line when he asked her, 'Did you change your nails?'"
  • "This made my heart skip a beat. I'm jealous. I wish my husband would say things like that."

This episode shows how Pentabu is considerate and affectionate to his wife on a daily basis.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, why not take it into consideration?
