The pattern on the Tropical Sea Turtle Glass is created using a technique called "sandblasting," in which sand is blown onto the glass at high pressure to create the pattern.

Subtle hue that can only be achieved with "Shabon Glass"

The color of the glass is also a key factor in creating a tropical atmosphere!

The beautiful light hue of the glass can only be expressed with "Shabon Glass." Shabon is a Portuguese loan word meaning soap. Just like soap bubbles, Shabon glass has a light reflective luster which is created by applying ultra-fine colored glass particles onto the surface before heating them.

It's characterized by a lighter coloring than traditional Japanese kiriko glass.

Both the exquisite colors of Shabon Glass and the sandblasting patterns are done by hand by skilled crafstmen. No two glasses are alike, so each one will have subtle differences for you to enjoy.
