A home sushi party with friends is always fun, but Japanese manga artist and Twitter user Hiro Akino (@16_akino) may have stumbled upon a device that will add some interactive fun and perfectly made nigiri to any sushi gathering. Akino says he was visiting a friend and used "Tobidase! Osushi" (Popping Sushi Maker)--a toy sushi mold that quickly pumps out perfectly made sushi with no fuss once you put in the ingredients. Looking at it, Akino's claims that the mold strikes the perfect balance between silliness and functionality seems to be true!

The mold itself is shaped like a sushi geta, or traditional wooden plating for sushi. The mold, made by Akebono Sangyo, a general plastic manufacturer, makes it easy to literally pump out of some delicious nigiri-zushi. The geta contains nigiri-shaped holes made to perfectly fit sushi rice.

Then, top each rice cluster with your favorite toppings and push out the sushi rice thanks to the geta's unique pushable structure. You can see from the maker's demonstration video and the photos of the finished product Akino shared that it's a really convenient way to whip up a tasty batch of ten sushi pieces all at once!

The simple but effective Popping Sushi Maker has become a viral hit online, with many praising its genius and ease of use, as nigiri is often passed over during home sushi parties as it can be difficult to get the hand of. If you're looking for some improvement to your sushi parties and some fun while doing it, you may want to check out the Popping Sushi Maker!

You can check out the Popping Sushi Maker from online retail sites such as Amazon.
