Yoshida & Co. are a Japanese company known worldwide for their ‘Porter’ line of bags and accessories. The Porter brand was created 60 years ago, and to celebrate the upcoming anniversary, they are holding an event at the Shinjuku Isetan department store. The ‘Porter Trunk Show: We go, where you go’ will be running for just one week, from 19th October to 25th.

This is exciting news for any fashion aficionado, but this particular event also holds some awesome collaboration goods that should excite Studio Ghibli fans too.

For the second time, Porter have made a line of bags inspired by My Neighbor Totoro, one of the animation studio’s most famous works. Last year’s collection sold out almost immediately, a testament to the lasting popularity of Totoro.

Each bag’s pattern is inspired by the scene in the movie when Satsuki and Mei meet Totoro in a dream and fly over the forest during the nighttime. The bags also have a faux-fur panel made in the image of Totoro’s fluffy stomach.

There’s a vertical shoulder bag (25,300 yen).

A 2-way toolbag (35,750 yen).

And a 2-way tote bag (38,500 yen).

This lineup, along with plenty of other Porter bags, will be available at the ‘Porter Trunk Show: We go, where you go’, located on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku’s main building, from 19th to 25th October 2022.
