Bath mats can be quite a pain - especially if you are living with a lot of people. By second or third person using the bath, the bath mat is likely to be pretty wet. Yet it seems a bit silly to change it so many times in a day. Washing it often is a pain too.

We found an interesting solution to this problem - a bath mat made of a special soil.

The soil is called 'diatomaceous earth' - it is known for its water-absorbing property.

At first, this bath mat appears as if it's simply a stone plate, but it actually only weighs 1.8 kg. On top of that, it is quite sturdy and doesn't break easily.

The bath mat absorbs a substantial amount of water, and it dries by itself over time. It's a nice feeling that it feels dry as a result of that.

When water doesn't get absorbed as it did when you bought one, it apparently comes back alive by sanding the surface of the mat using a sand paper. The only other thing you have to do is dry it under sunlight from time to time.

It's also a fun feeling standing on this after a bath, because you can feel the water being sucked away from your feet.

There are also kitchen products that helps keep moisture away from your condiments.
