Every city has two faces — one during the day, and another during the night. And in most cases, the days are drastically different from nights.

In the Day to Night project by American photographer Stephen Wilkes, the transition from day to night in cities around the world is captured in one photograph. His breathtaking photographs have been featured in notable media such as the National Geographic Magazine, The New York Time Magazine, Vanity Fair, and Times.

According to Wilkes, the Day to Night photographs embody “epic cityscapes and landscapes with fleeting moments throughout the Day to Night.” In order to capture these breathtaking moments, he photographs from one camera angle continuously for approximately 15 hours. A group of images are then selected and electronically blended into one photograph.
