If you have ever lived in a Japan for a while, you might be familiar with the warm canned coffee at the convenience stores or vending machines. It is perfectly stored in a small area for grab and go. The daily process in which we have to pour our coffee into a typical cup, then cover up with a lid may be a bit outdated in Japan. Besides that, sometimes it feels like a waste of time waiting around 20 minutes in front of loads of customers for a good cup of hot coffee.

As we are in the catching up stage, a new company named Hotshot will bring this first phenomenon to the U.S in early 2016.

According to the company's website,

HOT canned coffee was invented in Japan and is an estimated $14 billion a year business. We knew the timing was right to introduce the concept to the US, but we quickly realized we couldn’t just copy the Japanese.

Many food products sold in U.S tends to be larger, and people’s taste can be different. Danny Grossfeld, the creator of Hotshot has been consistently experimenting in perfecting a hot canned coffee over six years since his first trip to Tokyo, Japan in 2009. The stage where he is currently standing may not be comparable to Japan, but at least he is half way there. He invented a small heated Hot Box for home and business. The box keeps its temperature at 140 degrees, enough for a hot can of coffee.

Hotshot will first sell their product from a “Hot Box,” which holds up to 9 cans. In the near future, we hope to find Hot canned coffee in every convenience store in U.S.
