These beautiful but macabre art pieces are called Grave Yard Bonsai Mountain Skulls, and are brought to you courtesy of the Australian designers at Jack of the Dust. They give artistic form to the Latin phrase "Memento Mori", which translates to "remember that you can die." Interestingly enough, the same phrase in Japanese (these are Bonsai, after all) would mean "forest of mementos", which is a fitting term for the unification of life in death in these foresty designs.

The pieces are available at Jack of Dust and are “cast in PVC plastic and...molded off a real human skull.” Coming in at $399 AUS, they can be considered art for serious collectors. However, perhaps those willing to spend the money will find themselves with quality pieces that bring the dead to life.
