In U.S, organ donation numbers are low, but Asia countries are much more worse. Right now in Japan, there are about 14,000 patients who need transplant, and only 300 of them received a donor. An organization called Second Life Toys created a beautifully creative idea to show organ transplant awareness by fixing broken plush toys for kids.

1. Take a picture of the broken toy, and a thank you letter.

2. Mail the toy in a box.

3. Transplant operation.

4. Receive back their fixed toy. And on the donor's side, he/she will receive the thank you letter and a picture of the broken toy that has been saved.

The organization is hoping this concept may raise some awareness, and if you have some old plush toys or unbroken ones that you want to donate, please kindly drop them here.
