Japan has a very well documented fondness for themed cafes, particularly those staffed by adorable animals. The country's bars and cafes that cater to those looking for companionship, however, can also get quite inventive. After work drunken salary men can be seen relieving their stress and fawning over good looking women at hostess clubs, and otaku can live out their fantasies having an cute girl in a maid uniform treat him like a king at a cafe. While women can certainly head to a host club, those only provide one flavor of guy (DBZ hair, lots of makeup, and livers that look like a Tom Waits song). Fortunately there are cafes that provide alternatives, like Tokyo Muscle Cafe--where muscular shirtless men treat women guests like queens.

So what's it all about? Basically, at Muscle Cafe Tokyo, women can enjoy food and drink, but the main course is being lavished with attention by macho men and shown "Japanese hospitality" (omotenashi) through the power of ripped studs. Ladies can pick from an interactive menu of "original omotenashi" services that include things like being picked up and carried like a princess, having a staff member squeeze fresh juice for you while showing off his muscles, or giving you a muscular kabe-don experience--pinning you up against a wall and whispering sweet nothings in your ear. There's even something called the "muscle merry-go round", which surrounds you with a pack of buff dudes.

The selling point is that it is a fully interactive experience, making it a bit different than average strip-shows in Japan.

You can ride them while they do push-ups.

This is either the "muscle merry-go-round or the "muscle jam-packed train"--both actual menu options.

This isn't the first time Japan has had ripped hunks exclusively as staff. In the past they've famously had yakiniku restaurants where shirtless macho men grill for you, and Valentine's Day events where buff studs pack your chocolate with protein. Now ALL OUT, a "muscular performance group" from Kyushuu is opening up an event-cafe in Tokyo. It's first event on July 30th has already sold out, so by popular demand they are holding another one in Omotesando's Tokyo Salon on August 27th.

Regular tickets are 4,500 yen ($42.60 USD), while VIP tickets go for 6,500 yen ($61.54 USD), which are both fairly average for a night at a hostess club, depending on what type of shenanigans you get up to. Those in Japan looking to book a trip to macho man heaven can board the meat train here, although tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
