The traditional Japanese food Ramen has a large variety of flavors, but it was originally divided into four typical flavors: Shoyu(Soy), Miso, Tonkotsu(Pork), and Shiyo(Salt).

Which is your favorite?

Recently, there was some research done on all the prefectures in Japan to discover their best preferred Ramen.

[Red] Shoyu [Yellow] Miso [Green] Pork [Blue] Shiyo

The combined statistic results show Soy Ramen of being number 1, the votes mostly come from the northern areas like Tokyo and Hokkaido.

The Kyushu area (the four main parts of southern Japan) and Fukuoka love Pork Ramen.

8 prefectures like Chiba, Akita, Gunma, and Okinawa love Miso Ramen.

A very small area of Salt Ramen lovers are Shimane, Ishikawa, Fukui, they are located behind the Sea of Japan.

If you wonder which area has the most Ramen restaurants, it ranks from number 1 Tokyo, Hokkaido, then Fukuoka. And we highly recommend Pork Ramen from Fukuoka.
