Every year, over one million sunflowers bloom in the vast flower farm of Sera Kogen Farm in Sera, Japan (Hiroshima Prefecture). The Sunflower Festival is more beautiful this year than ever, with visitors flowing in for the chance to behold the breathtaking scenery.
The Sunflower Festival 2016 has been receiving visitors since July 30th, and will be open until August 21st. If you’ve just heard about this and feel like you’re late to the game, don’t worry — Sera Kogen Farm writes on their website that the peak time to see the sunflowers is around August 20th, giving you and all other prospective visitors a little more time to prepare a summer trip to this majestic spot.

Aside from the Sunflower Festival in the summer, Sera Kogen Farm fills their fields with tulips during the spring, and holds other fun events throughout the year. Even if you miss out on this year’s Sunflower Festival, you can always try next year, or head over during a different season.
