Ghibli’s Spirited Away Can Be A Real Thing
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Academy Award-winning Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away will be returning to the big screen in the U.S. this December. The fan-favorite Japanese film by Hayao Miyazaki will return for one day to cinemas across the nation via a partnership between Fathom Events and GKIDS. The celebration will include showings on Sunday, December 4 (English Dubbed) and Monday, December 5 (English Subtitles) only. Following screenings of the film, an exclusive animated short titled Ghiblies: Episode 2 will also be shown. The 25 minute short shows comedic vignettes and caricatures of Studio Ghibli staff as they go about their day.
If you live in the U.S., you can find the closet theater to you participating in the 15th anniversary screenings, as well as ticket information here.
