A mysterious-looking cloud popped up in the sky earlier this month in Shonandai, Kanagawa in Japan. Not in the form of a dragon, cat, or dinosaur, it was actually a perfectly round, big, fluffy cloud. The amazing view prompted excited SNS-users to take pictures and upload them online for the rest of the world to enjoy.

According to climate experts, the cloud probably falls under the “roll cloud” category. Its unique form is due to an undercurrent of air brushing over mountains on a windy day. As a volcanic island, Japan's geography is a main factor in the production of these perfectly round clouds, and they are said to appear at a higher percentage here than in other locations in the world.
