The re-release of the the show follows a successful return to theaters by Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, although this time it comes via a collaboration between Lionsgate and Funimation. Screenings of the film with Japanese language and English subtitles will be held on February 7th, while the English language dub will screen on February 8th in 110 movie theaters. In addition, Lions gate will be releasing a new "deluxe" collector's edition, which features a remastered original Blu-Ray with Digital HD, special packaging, and Mondo artwork on March 7, 2017. If you want to get tickets to see a screening, you can search for nearby showings on Funimation's website.

In the year 2029, cybernetic government agent, Major Motoko Kusanagi and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of “The Puppet Master”—a mysterious and threatening computer virus is capable of infiltrating human hosts.
